Policies

The Experience

  • Submit your booking request, and we'll create a tailored menu to suit your event needs.

  • Chef Jean will handle all shopping, preparation, cooking, and cleanup, ensuring a seamless and elevated dining or catering experience.

  • Arrival: Chef Jean will arrive at your venue prior to the event start time to prepare and set up.

  • Services include setup (dishes, kitchenware, etc.), personalized service, and thorough kitchen cleanup before departure.

Space & Equipment Requirements

  • Chef Jean will bring the necessary equipment (pots, pans, and cooking tools).

  • The host is asked to provide:

    • A working stove and oven.

    • A grill (if the menu includes grilled items).

    • Ample counter space for plating and a table for setup.

Payment Policies

Deposits

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your event date.

  • Deposits must be paid within 48 hours of booking confirmation.

  • For last-minute events (within 2 weeks), full payment is required at the time of booking.

Balance Payments

  • The remaining balance is due 1 week before your event date.

  • Payments are accepted via:

    • Zelle, Cash App, Venmo

    • Cash, Check, or Money Order (payable to Chef Jean Lorestil).

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made 7 or more days prior to the event will receive an 80% refund of the deposit.

  • Cancellations made within 6 days of the event are non-refundable.

Rescheduling Policy

  • Events can be rescheduled with a 10% rebooking fee.

  • Rescheduled events must occur within 3 months of the original date, unless otherwise agreed upon.

Menu Selections

  • Chef Jean offers bespoke menu options tailored to your event.

  • Seasonal availability may impact menu items, but any necessary adjustments will be made with your approval.

  • Custom menus, buffet-style services, and special requests are available and will be priced during consultation.

Additional Notes

  • Events outside Richmond, VA, will include a travel fee.

  • Service fees may apply for larger parties, holidays, or last-minute bookings.

  • An itemized invoice will be emailed to you with a breakdown of costs and payment links.

Location Access

  • Please ensure Chef Jean has access to the venue at the agreed-upon time.

  • If access is not possible and no response is received within 60 minutes, the event will be considered a cancellation, and the cancellation policy will apply.
